Solytare v2.1 - a Michael Pearce production. mgp4007@omega.uta.edu

Nov 8, 1997

What's New:

Ok, i said version 2.0 would be the final version, didn't i? Good thing
i added in that little catch all phrase "unless bugs are found". A bug
was found! Well, actually 2 of them. While porting my game to the 86,
programmer extraordinaire Jimmy Mrdell found the bugs (but i am not
going to say what they are; it's way too embarassing). Jimmy also helped
in coding the bug patches. Thanks Jimmy!

By popular demand, there is now a version for the 86, thanks to the
tireless work of Jimmy Mardell. That means there are now a total of
4 versions of Solytare floating around out there. Well, 4 that i have
released anyways. Adam Geitgey has also released a port for phatOS.
Use which ever one makes your calculator crash the least. If anyone wants
a version for another shell, just tell me, and i will be happy to help.
I will *possibly* code it for the 92 this winter break (i don't have a
92, i would have to borrow it). And all of you 86 users out there, send
*another* email to Jimmy Mrdell (mja@algonet.se) telling him thanks.

I have set up a web page for the ti85 games i made. It can be found
at http://ti85games.home.ml.org so check it out if you want. Unfortunate-
ly, most every link on there is bad, maybe this will change in the future,
   maybe not.

Description:

Here is my first completed game! woohoo! Good ol' solitaire.
Have you played solitaire for windows? Well, me too! In fact,
many people have bought computers just to play that damned solitaire
game. It's true! (So if i some how saved you $1000+ because you
   don't need to buy a computer anymore, send the money to me instead :) ;
email me for details! ) Anyways, the play of my game is pretty close to
solitaire for windows. All you have to do is build the I2C mouse
adapter for your calculator, and you are ready to play (or just use
the arrow keys if you don't want to be carrying around a mouse).
You should be able to figure it out. You *CAN* do it! I believe in you!
I have made the source code available. If you wish to do something
bizarre (or not so bizarre) with the source, please email me first! (I
seriously considered displaying a subliminal message, but decided not to.)
If anyone is interested, i am thinking about starting over with
Solomon's Key. If you have never tried it, it's available at ticalc.org.
Oh, now i have started over on it (as of version 2.0 of Solytare). My
goal, like everyone else's, is to make a game that is more popular than
Jimmy Mrdell's. Wish me luck on that one :/ . And as of version 2.1,
i am getting *almost* back to where i was on the solomon's key for ZShell.
I would expect to see something after school lets out for the fall
semester and i have a little bit more time to devote.

Keys:

Pretend the cursor arrows are a mouse. i know, it seems unimaginable,
     but give it a whirl.
The 2ND key is like a mouse "button". Not the kind of button that you
have on a shirt, but ... well, you can figure it out. Drag the card.
The + and - key will change the spacing of the cards. No need for
     those pesky bifocals!
More - bring up the options menu. Then use F1 - F3.

Future Additions:
X Hold down Alpha key to make the cursor only move one pixel at a time.
X Add scoring. I always play "Vegas Style" in Windows (don't worry,
i'm 21) so i may add scoring like this.
X Anything else *YOU* want? (who cares what you want?? :) )

Future Subtractions:
X Make it smaller? - i doubt it. (nope, it only gets bigger.)

Symbol Key:
X - never mind, i'm not going to do this.

Thanks to:
Jimmy Mrdell - Great Zshell school... great random number routine... and now
   great port to the 86.
Sam Davies - For *not* making a debugger for Usgard 1.0... this is what
made me start on a new project - solitaire.
Ben Sferrazza - For having a name with an 's' followed by an 'f'. damn is
that cool. And you made a good damn shell, i guess.
Usgard Team - Great job bring the size of the shell back down to earth :)
Thanks to anyone else who plays my game *and* skateboards. (The logo on the
cards is supposed to be like the ZERO bird logo. It used to say ZERO
instead of RIGEL, et al., but i changed it.
