Introduction

About a month after I released Penguins (the first ever scrolling
platform game for a TI-8X calculator) for the TI-83, a few people
bugged me to just change the graphics to look like it was Mario.
Eventually, I started writing Super Mario Land 83, and after a few
days I lost interest (which happens a lot). A few weeks later, I
started writing Super Mario Land 86, which over time changed to
Super Mario 86 (the graphics were originally modeled after Super
Mario Land for the Game Boy). Then I left the country for about a
month. When I came back, I had to catch up in school and other
activities. I wasn't until Christmas 97 that I continued (for just
a few weeks though). Then, on the first day of March Madness, I
wrote a complete level editor with compression (thanks to SCaBBy)
and after exams, I continued work on and off, and here we are today,
with 6000 lines of code.

Version 0.91 - Added special ending & custom ending messages
             - Shell bug fix
Version 0.90 - First beta release
Version 0.50 - Just a little preview I released on irc around Christmas 97
Only one level, had the basics

------------------------------------------------------------------

Setup

Super Mario 86 - Send mario.86g to your TI-86. It should include
three variables, mario (the title screen, loader, & decompressor),
mcode (the actual game code), and world1 (levels modeled after Super
Mario Bros 3 for the NES). To play, just type Asm(mario or run
mario from a shell.

** If you plug headphones into the linkport (with a 3.5mm -> 2.5mm adapter) **
** Super Mario 86 will output sound! *****************************************

Super Mario 86 World Editor - Send meditor.86g to your TI-86. It contains
medit (the actual editor) and bloat (the compressor, written by
SCaBBy).

If any one wants to make a Super Mario 86 World Editor for Windows,
please email me!

Please don't email asking about a port to the TI-83, I plan on
eventually getting around to it.

I also plan on releasing the source code when I polish it up.

Other Stuff

Feel free to play around with the world editor, it takes some getting used to.
